The municipal building where the Mahalaxmi School in Mumbai operated was in disrepair. The school's walls were crumbling and posed a danger to the students.
Students and parents took action. They advocated for a new building this year from the municipal government, which is spacious, beautiful, and safe.

Happy International Women's Day! We are continuously inspired by the incredible, smart, and bold girls and the women who teach and mentor them at The Akanksha Foundation. All of us at the Fund feel so grateful to be able to support them.
A heartwarming story from Akanksha's Late Anantrao Pawar Memorial English Medium School:
"Tasbiha couldn't stop gushing about this beautiful model home that she and her father designed and built together for a science project on Biodiversity.
Tasbiha's father, Rehmatulla, is a fabricator and was overjoyed when his daughter asked for help with a project. Although he has not completed his education through the project he got an opportunity to support his daughter and teach her about his work"
