Understanding the value and need for Excellent School Leaders and Principals, we also support the India School Leadership Institute (ISLI). Established in 2013, ISLI is one of the first organizations in India whose mission is exclusively focused on developing the abilities of current school leaders – school owners, headmasters, principals – so that they can drive high-performing schools that commit to and deliver academic achievement and character development of children from underserved communities. ISLI programming is based on current international and domestic best practices and research regarding effective school leadership.

  We fund grants at ISLI that support the following program: City Fellowship ISLI’s fellowship programs take in India’s most promising educators. Fellows receive training that is on par with the world’s best school leadership programs. ISLI runs its City Fellowship across four cities serving nearly 200 school leaders that impact 90,000 students and 3,000 teachers. These leaders are nearly halfway through the first year of their two-year fellowship and are showing high-levels of engagement with the program and are starting to make changes that directly impact students in their schools.
