Our Young Professionals Network is a very enthusiastic group of dedicated young professionals that strongly believe in Akanksha’s cause. They raise awareness and support for Akanksha by leading and participating in various events across NYC. YPN provides its members the chance to enhance their leadership skills while making an impact to educational reform movement in India.

Executive Board

Harsh Daga
Harsh is an investment analyst focused on public equities in the healthcare sector. He joined Akanksha due to his belief in the power of access to education. He continues to be inspired and motivated by the stories of the Akanksha students and alumni.
Mahreen Daruwala
Mahreen is a speech and language pathologist currently working in a New York City special education school. She joined Akanksha after hearing inspiring stories from alumni at a networking event. She is impressed by the impact that Akanksha has had on students as well as their families and is delighted to be involved in supporting the extraordinary vision of the organization.
Krishna A Daswani
Krishna Daswani is a marketing professional born and raised in the New York area. He is inspired to contribute to Akanksha’s journey in honor of his late father, who believed strongly in the power of education to change the trajectory of one’s life.
Sanjana Datwani
Sanjana works within the Telecom, Media & Tech space. She joined the Akanksha Education Fund Young Professionals Board because she believes strongly that education has the power to transform lives and is inspired by the impact Akanksha has on its students, their families, and their communities.
Kavitha Eechambadi
Kavitha currently works at Flatiron Health and supports relationships with biopharma companies to advance their research priorities in the cancer space. She is passionate about Akanksha’s education-focused mission and inspired by the Akanksha students and alumni she has spoken with during her time on the Akanksha Education Fund Young Professionals Board.
Kishore Eechambadi
Kishore is an experienced corporate strategy professional who currently works in the financial services sector. As a former AIF Clinton Fellow, he worked in India on rural microfinance and entrepreneurship initiatives. His strong belief in equality of opportunity for all individuals led to his involvement with Akanksha.
Mayuri Jain
Mayuri is currently Cloud Sales Strategist at Google, and a graduate of Emory University. She’s a native Clevelander, but resides in NYC and can be found exploring the vast food and drink scene the city has to offer. She’s passionate about educational opportunity and equity, and is so excited to be able to share that vision with Akanksha’s Young Professionals.
Sabiha Officewala
​​Sabiha is an analyst within Asset Management at Goldman Sachs in New York City. She joined Akanksha to be able to impact a cause and help in any way she can to give back to her home country. Being brought up more privileged than others in Mumbai, she saw the lack of educational resources for students and believes that small actions can make big change. She wants to be able to see a more educated India in the upcoming years.
Neha Prakash
Neha is an editor at Marie Claire magazine, with a focus on film, television, and celebrity reporting. She has 10 years of experience in digital and print journalism and has worked to spotlight diverse and marginalized voices in the entertainment industry. She joined Akansha because she deeply believes in the power of education to lift communities and believes every child deserves the right to a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Alisha Shah
Alisha is currently a Strategy Associate at Prophet. She graduated from the University of Michigan and moved to Chicago shortly after. Alisha joined the Young Professionals Network to help raise awareness for Akanksha and work with the team to provide more educational opportunities to children in India.
Vipin Shri
Vipin Shri is a startup marketing professional with a focus on content and creative strategy. He joined the Akanksha Education Fund Young Professionals Board so that he remains connected with social impact in India after spending a year there as an AIF Clinton Fellow.
